Blue Jays Come From Behind To Edge Padres

Blue Jays 6 Padres 5

The Padres scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st and added a single run in the 2nd for a 3-0 lead over the Blue Jays heading into the bottom of the 2nd.  Tom Miller brought the Jays back with a 2 run single only to see the Padres add 2 more runs in the top of the 3rd.  The Jays scored single runs in the 3rd and the 4th and still trailed 5-4 going into the bottom of the 5th.  Rick Plati opened the inning with a single and scored the tying run on Matt Detrick’s single.  Detrick would score the go ahead run on a 2 out throwing error.  The Padres put runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 out in the 6th but could not push the tying run across and went down in order in the 7th.  Thom Miller and Matt Dietrick both had 2 hits to lead the Jays while Miles Stewart had 2 hits for the Padres.
