Reds Win When Tiger Rally Falls Short

Reds 15 – Tigers 11

The Tigers jumped on the Reds for 3 quick runs in the top of the 1st inning but the Reds sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom of the inning scoring 6 runs for a 6-3 lead.  The Reds would add 2 in the 3rd and 5 more runs in the 4th when Scott Rose hit one of the highest and longest HR’s of the season deep into the left field trees.  The Tigers were down 13-3 going into the top of the 5th and had to score at least 1 run to keep the game going.  A single by Jared Russ and a double by Tim Briggs set the table for the Tigers.  Caleb Boyd hit a sacrifice fly to center and Briggs scored from second when the Reds fell asleep on the throw in from the outfield.  The Tigers were alive and would score 2 more runs in the 5th and 4 in the 6th to make it a 13-11 game.  The Reds regrouped in the bottom of the 6th on an RBI triple by Matt Hann and a sacrifice fly by Clint Bailey.   The Tigers would put a runner on first in the 7th but that was it as the Reds held on for a tough 15-11 victory.  Matt Hann had 3 hits for the Reds with 2 doubles and a triple, scored 3 runs with 1 RBI.  Scott Rose added 3 hits with a HR, scored 3 runs with 3 RBI’s.  Tim Collie also had 3 hits with a triple, scored 2 runs with 2 RBI’s.   Tim Briggs, Brandon Spears, Matt Humphries, and Brian Douglas all had 2 hits for the Tigers.
