Dbacks Out Score Pirates

Dbacks 13 – Pirates 10

The Dbacks broke open a close game with a 6 run 6th and then hung on for a 13-10 victory over the Pirates.  The Dbacks jumped to a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the 1st but Eric Davis of the Pirates crushed a long HR over the center field fence with a runner on first for a 2-1 Pirate lead after one.  The Dbacks came right back with 3 more runs in the top of the 2nd only to see the Pirates tie the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the inning.   The Pirates took a 5-4 lead after 4 innings but the Dbacks regained the lead on Jeremy Diggs 2 run triple in a 3 run 5th.  The Dbacks still held a 7-6 lead going into the 6th inning when they pushed across 6 runs highlighted by Travis Murray’s 2 run triple and Jeremy Diggs 2 run double.  The Pirates would add 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th and 2 more in the 7th but the rally would fall short and the Dbacks escaped with the win.  Sam Baker had 3 hits for the Dbacks while Jeremy Diggs came up with a double, a triple, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI’s.  Anthony Carrasquilla lead the Pirates with 4 hits while Eric Davis added 3 hits including a triple and a HR.  Davis also scored 3 runs with 4 RBI’s.  Eddis Regan chipped in 3 hits and scored 1 run.
